Prediabetes?

Prediabetes is when someone's blood glucose (blood sugar) level is too high but not high enough to be diagnosed as type 2 diabetes. Prediabetes can progress to type 2 diabetes if steps aren't taken to prevent it. 1 in 3 American adults has prediabetes, and 81% don't know they have it. The core of the program consists of you attending classes with a Lifestyle Coach who is a Registered Dietitian and a group of other participants on 1-hour long Zoom classes 22 times over the course of the year.

When you sign up, you will pick a day and time that is convenient to meet for you on a regular basis such as Sundays at 3PM or Mondays at 7PM.

Track Your
Weight Loss
Progress

You will also be issued a wireless scale that you can use to track your weight loss progress in the Fruit Street mobile app. Every time you step on the scale, it will log in your Fruit Street health record in the mobile app and website.

This way you can see a graph of your weight and progress towards 5-7% weight loss. Your coach will also have access to your weight so she can help you track your weight loss progress.

Track Your Physical Activity Progress

Use our mobile application to track your physical activity throughout the week.

Our program is based on CDC guidelines and we recommend striving for 150 minutes of moderate
physical activity per week. You, your coach, and
your group members will brainstorm ways to increase physical activity during your classes.

Receive Diet &
Lifestyle Coaching
From Your Lifestyle Coach

The Fruit Street mobile app also allows you
to receive feedback on your from your lifestyle coach throughout the week via text message.  

You can also text message 1-1 with your
lifestyle coach about any diet or lifestyle related
question you have throughout the week. This
private text-chat allows you to ask your
coach any confidential questions outside
of the group setting.

If you are concerned that you are prediabetic, we also have a partnership with LabCorp that allows you to get a Hemoglobin a1c test which is an average measure of blood glucose over the previous 3 months.
